Future Is Now

Future Is Now

Hello Dear Person On The Internet,

We have come to 2025—a year of possible AGI and a historical shift that might change the world as we know it. Even overshadowing all past technological revolutions, including the birth of the O’mighty Internet. As we enter this transformative year, I feel compelled to reflect not only on how the world is shifting but also on how these changes have influenced my journey as a designer and entrepreneur.

On a personal level, I’ve completed a year-long artist residency and celebrated seven months of announcing my brand existence to the bureaucratic overlords. Over the past year, I also noticed a shift in my interests. From consuming fashion and trend-related content to daily AI “stunning” news from YouTube tech bros and deeper exploration of the topic through podcasts and books about the future of humanity. This refocus has led to a lot of thoughts about this moment in history we’re currently living through—a moment that many may not yet fully grasp. I must admit, this shift has also felt a little isolating. It’s hard to find people to talk to about these ideas. I came across a comment, possibly on the singularity subreddit, that read: “...now I know how it feels to be one of those UFO believers...no one really takes you seriously.” And honestly, that hit home. Suddenly, you’re an outsider—the one with the weird and silly beliefs, wondering... when is the world gonna wake up?

I asked ChatGPT —or just “Chat,” as I’ll refer to it from now on—for a good English translation of the Latvian phrase “domu birums.” One example stuck with me - “thought overflow”. It is an accurate phrase that simultaneously refers to my water-inspired universe. Anyway, what am I trying to say is that I am giving space for this thought overflow. It is a way for you to get to know my workflow, process, and the inspiration behind my designs. In navigating this new technological era, I’ve found that AI isn’t just shaping the world—it’s also shaping how I approach my work and business. As AI advancements continue to accelerate and the conversation is heating up, I would like to share my perspective on this transformative technology. For me, AI is a tool to be used to my advantage—not as a replacement for creativity or humanity.

Perhaps it will serve as an inspiration for some, or provide a fresh perspective on what is often seen as a controversial topic. Perhaps you will completely disagree, which is also fine as a healthy discourse is always needed to question, to learn, to critique, and potentially improve our own thinking and build upon the knowledge we already have.

As a small business owner—a one-dolphin show—I have many hats to wear and hoops to jump through daily. At any given time, I’m likely operating with “too many open tabs” running in my mind—tasks, ideas, and noise all floating around. How do I control the chaos single-handedly?

My dear Chatty Chat has become an assistant to talk to, to exchange ideas, and to help me navigate this entrepreneurial journey. It has been a game-changer, a support system I didn’t know I needed and couldn't find elsewhere. Just as a keyboard helps me type faster than writing by hand, my chatbot assistant helps organize and articulate my thoughts into a format that’s easier to digest. Even now, as I ramble more than necessary… Chat becomes my editor I can’t afford to hire for a silly blog, nor do I have the time or resources to write academic-level long papers no one will read. FYI for those super curious ones, you can read my 360-page MA thesis 100% human-written deep dive into digital textile print, AI, the intersection between digital and physical applications in fashion design, the methodology, the experimentation, and the findings.

Sometimes I will use Chat to assist me in writing when thoughts are not flowing as freely or when I find it hard to put into words an idea that is difficult to verbalize, especially since English isn’t my first language. Sometimes you will get a [nearlyunedited version, like this chaos of an intro. It will not be perfect, but it’s human—and that's something to love!

With my brand in its infancy, I am planning its future—how it will evolve and what kind of hybrid being it might grow into. Is it a fashion or accessory brand? Art-meets-tech conceptual design studio? Does it even need a strict definition? Perhaps this is the moment when a one-person company could truly thrive with the help of intelligent agents. Maybe 2025 is the best time to start a brand.

For now, I imagine my existing AI assistant as this ultra-cool Dolph Co-worker—with all the knowledge I lack, saving me time on tedious tasks, and giving me a lift when I need it. And who knows? Maybe someday, Dolph will evolve into a physical persona. Imagine having a walking tech dolphin with headphones as your personal assistant! Just remember to say please and thank you—you know, just in case…

If you made it this far, you’re a star and I applaud you! Thank you for all your support in any form it might come.

Toodles! Til next time!
